Ro/Jo: Artwork by Madison Harrington

Madison Harrington is the needleworker behind Ro/Jo. Her work is currently featured and available at the Ten Women Gallery on Main St.

She's a rocket test engineer during the day, but lives for her magical time on an embroidery hoop, sorting through button bins, or finding new beads, thread, and fabric to play with. While Madison has been creative her whole life, she is fairly new to the artist scene, creating more seriously in only the past 6 months.

Her work is currently focused on embroidery and hand-sewing, led by fascination of art you can touch and experience in many ways. The primary goal of her work is to create something interesting to feel and see, while deepening her spiritually creative practice. She is inspired by Christi Johnson, who prefers the magical quality of hand-created pieces over the perfected embroidery machines. Madison's emerging artwork was also encouraged by Julia Cameron's The Artist's Way.

Madison's work weaves the passions of her life together, including themes of space, nature, magic, and fantasy. When she's not creating, she's tinkering with rockets and airplanes, practicing yoga, making tea, or admiring flowers.
